Devtools Colorpicker

It is great that so many important platforms that we use on the web are open source, and open to contributions from anyone.

It took a lot of work, but it was worth it. I’ve been doing some web design work recently, and love how much easier it is to play with different colors in a design.

Now I’m thinking of different ways that design work could be further improved with the colorpicker. A couple of ideas right now: (a) an eyedropper to select a color from the screen and (b) a color palette consisting of currently used and recommended colors.

Found your Spectrum ColorPicker through google. It looks really great. I was just curious about your licensing for this? Commercialy? Private Use Only? Great work though man. Very impressive. If you could somehow get an eyedropper tool then that would be a nice feature.

    Hi John,
The spectrum colorpicker is under the MIT License (https://github.com/bgrins/spectrum/blob/master/LICENSE), so feel free to use it commercially.

I agree – an eyedropper would be awesome! I proposed this idea a while ago inside of devtools group here: https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/google-chrome-developer-tools/_ZGcYRrejgw/discussion%5B1-25%5D, feel free to leave a note in that thread if you are interested in the idea.
